The Scarecrow Chipotle ad

For the past couple weeks I've had an article open in a tab that talks about how heart-wrenching the new Scarecrow ad by Chipotle is.

The article by Gawker, however, puts a more positive spin on the ad and it's anti-factory farming message. Sure, the ad is eerie, but the message was definitely important in trying to remind people that factory farming is an ethically questionable practice. Images like the"100% beef-ish" sticker are sobering reminders that many people buy their food from huge, faceless corporate farms that have little regard for food quality or ethics. The ad reminds me of what Doug Harper was saying at the dairy panel in that when corporations become the dominant influence in farming, they have no ability to think of any aspect of farming except the profit that can be skimmed off the top.

At the end of the day, this ad seeks to sell more Chipotle by raising concerns about the quality of most restaurant's food, and showing how their restaurant is against factory farming as a common industry practice.
