Welcome to the blog for Colgate University's interdisciplinary course on food. This is the place to keep up with what students in the course are experiencing in their work at Common Thread Community Farm and through their everyday encounters with food.

Interesting food blog section (growers)

I've been stuck looking at a section of this blog (www.thekitchn.com) that is all about growers of food. It's really cool! They simplify everything just to the right level of comprehension and they have beautiful imagery. Plus there is a post about tart cherry farming in my home town, hip hip.

Find it all here: http://www.thekitchn.com/categories/grower  (scroll down for the cherry article; I also recommend the post about the local bread maker on Long Island)

I'd first clicked on this blog to look at a post almost entirely unrelated to food, and loved discovering this other, very different corner of the site. It makes me happy to know that others interested in the "how" "where" & "by whom" of their food's growth could equally stumble upon this information.
