Does Sugar Really Make Kids Hyper?

Another interesting video I’ve come across this semester makes the case that sugar does not cause hyperactivity in children. I won’t belabor with details, as most of the argument focuses on issues of observer bias and the validity of experimentation methods, but the conclusion is essentially that most truly sound studies have found no significant difference between control groups (children without sugar) and experimental groups (children with sugar).

Warning: this does not mean that you should be liberally accepting your children’s plea for more sugar! The other detrimental health effects of excess sugar, as you might imagine, are quite real, and treats with a high sugar content should be eaten in moderation.
